Christopher Leadem (moi) is both a writer and
musician. All the information from "About the Author" still applies, but I add here some background about my music.
I began playing drums at age 10, and have played
in bands since I was 12. My brother and I formed a third band in high school, through which I met several
good friends and amazing musicians. My early experience was primarily on drums and vocals, but being surrounded
by melodic instruments, I slowly picked things up.
At CU my roommate traded me an old classical
guitar for a trench-coat (true story), and taught me some basic chords and progressions. I wrote my first song at 23,
bought a good acoustic guitar at 24, and have played both that instrument and piano/keyboards off and on ever since.
I bought my first good electric guitar a few years back, and became more serious about song-writing and recording.
While I like, and grew up on all the various
forms of rock, from Hendrix to early King Crimson, I find msyelf expressing through what might be referred to as rock's
outer edges: melodic and metal. They seem to allow me an outlet for very diverse emotions, both sides
of life. Call it Taosim, Duality, whatever you like. It is simply what I do.
I'm not in it for the money (obviously), but
I may go professional when the time is right. If you want to know more, or would like to use any of the music for
movie soundtracks or whatever, yell really loud to:
Do what you love,
Your mofo,
Chris
