In 18th Century Scotland, young Mary Scott visits the grave of her beloved, killed at the Battle of Culloden. Overcome by grief she falls across it, blinded by tears. She hears the haunting sound of bagpipes, long since outlawed by the English. A wavering form appears, and a ghostly voice whispers, "My Mary." She knows no more.
